Perhaps the ironsight rifleman should get 3 field dressings in the factions which lack aimpoints?

Or a shotty like the engineer?

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
Best post ever made!

What do you mean with Back? Is there a reason to take him now? I dont use Iron Sights for Close Quarter ( say room to room ) I just use the hip.

Well, clearly you are a 2 dimensional player. The usefulness of open sights is obvious to most people in the currrent version.

But of course, if you just want to hassle me because I "hurt your feelings" in the other thread (which resulted in a whingy report to a moderator) - then go ahead and spout off.

Why is the solution always to nerf accuracy and weapons.

There is a reason people today use optics for close quarters, fast sight aquisition.

It would take longer to sight on a target with iron sights than one with an ACOG or Mark4 Red dot.

You have a gigantic reticle that you simply throw up to your eye, and you can see through with both eyes open, and shoot very accurately. Your bullet hits whatever is behind the red dot/chevron.

The EOTech is an even better red dot sight.

Iron sights need a little eye adjusting before you get a proper sight picture, and generally people need to use one eye to focus right. Which, again in real life, holding an eye shut for a long time causes a degradation in vision.

If anything, the iron sights, especially anything with a peep hole, needs the slower time the optics have now.

have you?

its easier to sight down the barrel with iron sites, without looking through the aperature and over the post, you can just being the rifle into fire position and know it will hit(within reason) what you point at, and within 20-30 meters this would be alright, but youre also wrong about the ACOG being used for fast sight aquisition. the aimpoint is great for this, because it doesnt magnify everything 4 times and lower your FOV.

so when you look through an ACOG at CQC range, you are sevearly limited in what you see, but through the aimpoint/red dot sight, it isnt magnified, so you see what you see unaided, and just put the dot on the target. you can also do it with one or both eyes open.

The pistol and Scoped Rifle combo for the Officer is fine. Why is it a problem that players are using a close quarters combat weapon for close quarters combat? When I play as an officer, if my squad is entering an alley or building, I will almost always switch to my pistol because it is a better CQC weapons then my rifle. However, I don't walk around with the thing, trying to plug guys at 100 meters away because it's just not good for this.

I believe the OP stated that he has used the pistol to engage targets at around 30 meters away, this is only roughly 100 feet (98.4 actually). That is not really that far away and I doubt he can consistantly kill moving targets at this distance with his sidearm.

In short, officer kit is fine the way it is, it does not need changed.

Many weapons are equipped with both a scope and a reflex/iron sight, I saw a video on BBC.com the other day of a next generation rifleman's kit(not FIST), he had either an EOTech or a MARS somehow mounted on top of his weapons scope.

What if the Officer kit worked like the light machine guns so that 1 slot uses the scope and another uses the sight.

The only issue with that, apart from making the model and skins, would be reorganising the rest of his kit.
