Here's a novel new suggestion to people

Play it first comment on it afterwards.

I hate it when players think they should be able to annihilate a target emmediatly when they see it. Dont you get it? if its stronger than you...YOUR SKREWED!!!!

YOU NEED TO USE YOUR BRAIN!

All the reality is great and all, but I am wondering... with all this addition to reality, can you still kill someone by poking them in the foot with the knife? Surely not.

Good thinking Spec_Operator, but the chance of one squad grabbing all of the mentioned kits on a Public Server is far to big. Let's add a limit of two limited kits/squad. This would encourage a more tactical approach by the squadleaders and also get rid of the nubs joining regular infantry squads just to get their hands on the sniper kit!

Snipers, special operators, etc. will then have to create their own squads, just as it should be.

Even the squad is smallest group unit in PR it doesn't mean that every squad should wonder around the map independently. Stick together men. Also remeber that the enemy won't have more than 3 AR kits either.

The controversial changes are often the best.

Exactly. Infantry squads should not be taking out APCs by themselves on a regular basis.

They should be calling for their own APC (which should be escorting them anyway) to enage it.

They should be calling for tanks to assist.

They should be calling in air support.

Just like players are learning to run away from tanks and call for backup, it's going to be the same with APCs. About the only kind of vehicle any standard infantry squad should routinely be able to engage are the light vehicles - technicals, landrovers, nanjings etc.

As for suppresive fire it's not just about using LMGs though - use the .50 on the roof of vehicles, use supressive fire from assault rifles, use better smoke to conceal your own position.

0.8 is going to be MUCH MUCH TOUGHER. Don't expect to rush into the game tomorrow or Saturday, load it up and to be uber-brilliant, slaughtering everyone in your path.

You've got to fire and move, take cover, time your shots, THINK about where you're going and WHY you're going there.

The jump from 0.6 to 0.7 threw a lot of people and took a lot of adjustment.

The jump from 0.7 to 0.8 is similar in size, but of a very different nature. It's not like having the minimap removed and the SL spawn removed, where you simply can't see or use the changed elements. The changes in place in 0.8 require you to adjust your playing style further...

It's not like "Oh, I can't spawn on the SL because the SL spawn has gone"... it's "Oh, I can't expect to run across an open field in plain view of the enemy and live"

It requires you to learn how to cope with the changes for yourself, not to have them forced upon you.

Those who don't adapt will be easy prey.

You're right... but collaboration between different squads is not easy in public servers.

(beacause of lack of communication between SLs)

Well, then people will be forced to start working together even more.

I'm starting to like the idea, although the scenario with one squad grabbing all of these important kits still scares me.
