NZ really has no need for its own fighter jets at present. We just use CAS from other Coalition aircraft.

At the moment we do not use out A-4s at all. We are attempting to sell them but are so far unsuccessful. We were going to upgrade to some F-16s but that plan ended with a change of government.
So the A4s are still in storage. And in a theoretical war with a major power, NZ would probably purchase some new aircraft and/or bring back the A-4s. It happened in World war two, it could happen again. |
