Hah. Lately I've been wondering why is it that game developers waste so much of their resources to make newer, "better", and demanding engines. The engines keep staying couple years ahead of the hardware so its ridiculous. Games are made so they run 25fps for consoles, but when they come to PC I think its unacceptable that only very high end computers can run over 25fps. Its awesome when someone makes super future engine (crysis, doom3) but now everybody is doing it and after each game release, there is new engine. It just causes future full of "good" looking bad games.

I like it because it means games have the potential to last longer... (Take Battlefield 2 for example)

Well BF2 is well optimized for PC and frostbite was ported to the PC so it has horrible optimization i mean quad core is recommended ???? all new games suffer from the same problem (DAMN CONSOLES)
and crysis has great optimization even though you can run it on a P4. |
