![]() The main idea is to create a new war scenario, based on the present crisis between Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela, caused mainly by FARC’s illegal activities, such as drugs and weapons smugling. At first will be 2 New Factions BAF - Brazilian Armed Forces FARC - Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia - The conflict will take place in the northwestern border of Brazil, the Amazon Rain forest. - Relying mainly on river and air-transported jungle war specialist troops, the Brazilian Armed Forces(BAF) will be striking FARC drug labs, cocaine crops, illegal runways as well drug and weapon depots, inside Brazil border. - On the other side the FARC will rely on guerrilla tactics, defense positions, and advantage from the well known rough terrain and tight vegetation, to ambush BAF. SpreadSheets http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?k...WTFFPZVE&hl=en Game Features Beyond the addition of 2 new factions,a bunch of new Statics, Vegetation, Weapons and Vehicles, this proposal is about the introduction of new gameplay features. Air Transport Improvements Brazilian troops in Amazon are mainly air-transported, and the terrain and vegetation found in Amazon Rain forest doesn’t allow land vehicles and helicopters landing, so the air transport will be, not the only way, but the better way to go. There are 2 features already in development. - Para-Troopers being dropped by transport planes (probably C130) - Heli-drop hovering over rivers (without landing, no fastropes) New Caches Templates As told before, the Brazilian armed Force(BLUFOR) objectives will be destructible drug labs, cocaine crops, illegal runways as well drug and weapon depots, instead of the usual random cache or fixed flags Factions Brazilian Armed Forces Handheld Assault Rifle - PARAFAL M964 ![]() Scoped Assault Rifle - FAL 964 x4 ![]() Automatic Machine Gun - FN MAG 7,62 ![]() Sub-Machine Gun - MP5 a3 ![]() Sidearm - Taurus PT92(beretta 92) ![]() Marksman rifle - FAL MD2 x6 Sniper Rifle - ACGL x8 ![]() Grenade Launcher- m79 ![]() Light anti-tank - AT 4 ![]() Vehicles APC - EE 11Urutu ![]() Transport Truck - Merc. Some facts to support the non-fictional scenario for the conflict.
Colombia is the source of more than 70% of the world's cocaine supply, according to DEA figures. BBC NEWS | Americas | Key Farc role in US cocaine trade The FARC, with some 20,000 members, is active throughout Colombia and headquartered in the south of the country, where it largely governed a region about the size of Switzerland for over 40 years. According to military analysts, the FARC earns between $250 and $300 million through criminal acts, of which 65 percent comes from the drug trade. With this massive revenue source, the FARC modernized its weapons and launched a military and political campaign, the FARC purchased contraband arms and expanded its military ranks. About 2 million U.S. citizens use cocaine, U.S consumption is about 250 tons a year; Europe's is 150-200 tons, and Brazil's 50 tons. Colombia and the US cocaine market Both increased domestic consumption and the creation of cocaine processing centers in Brazil are seen as potentially undermining U.S. drug war efforts. Brazilian traffickers are building a niche for themselves in designer drugs, while the nation’s large chemical industry provides an opportunity to obtain drug-processing chemicals. Brazil’s Escalating Role in the War on Drugs » Colombia Journal Brazil-Colombia border Brazil and Colombia agreed on a cooperation and defense agreement aimed at controlling the one thousand mile lawless common border which is regularly used by drugs and arms dealers as well as the cocaine-funded FARC rebel group. The agreement sets the stage for cooperation in military training, intelligence and weapons procurement. It aims to help both sides police the border between Brazil and Colombia. Brazil - Brazzil Mag - Brazil and Colombia Unite Against Drug Dealers and FARC Terrorists Brazil began bolstering its border security almost as soon as Plan Colombia surfaced in 1999. After three years of military expansion, the Brazil-Colombia border is bristling with new installations. Among them is a new air force base, a naval base, and a set of border platoons stretching from Tabatinga through an area known as the Dog´s Head, where Colombia, Venezuela and Brazil meet. A new jungle brigade based in the Amazon city of Tefe provides support for the 2,500 troops stationed along the 1,000-mile border. These ground forces are supplemented with naval and marine units as well as aircraft at the new Sao Gabriel da Cachoeira airbase. The Venezuelan Forces have a model of the FN FAL but yours looks hella lot beter :P
I also had some plans for a Cache. I was going to do this faction as a side faction of the VAF but that is ok. :P You all are doing some fine work. I am the Venezuelan Armed Forces lead and I think I can see us crossing paths in the Gaming Future |

Waoo, nice ammount of work. Good luck
The Brazilian army use M4, M16 and M203 as well no? The M61 grenade and HM-1 Pantera already exist within BSS, but still better to have its own version and model The HM-1 Panther could be use by the Taiwanese faction, the PLA faction and the French faction!!! The African Faction need the FN FAL. We knew this model made by Exec, but didn't know it was finished and textured!!! And the FN MAG? I know a bunch of factions that could use it, just great My Japanese faction need the M61 Hand Grenade. I thought to ask for USI:FFI M26 Hand Grenade but yours would be perfect xD If you are willing to? I think the Venezuelan Armed Forces and the Brazilian Armed Forces should work together, would be a pitty if not. Especialy when both factions have the same ennemy (Farc) and the same goal! And at last, the French Forces really need African statics (plus the Panther chopper). Yours are damn close to what we are looking for. In fact, they are similar. So, we could look for cooperation with each others!? For exemple, we have a Cessna which could be share for your map Cucui. Quote:
PS: The Brazilian army is using the Mirage 2000 as well? Since the Taiwanese faction, the French Faction, the Argentina Faction and the MEC faction use it, we could think about it. The Taiwanese faction and the French Faction already have a WIP M2000. But it's a low priority for now... | |

I'm just a spokesman here.
- We have interrest in sharing content, even co-working on the main tasks, with all the factions you cited. - For now we are focused on infantry/statics development, we still don't see in a reasonable way to use attacks jets, or heavy armors against FARC. - Yes, Brazil does have M4/m16 etc, but the forces in the amazon uses the listed above equipment. -The venezuela, for the reality and gameplay sake, will be a OPFOR, even more with the lasts HUGO's behaviors don't seeming too friendly to Brazil, and COLOMBIA, in a near future we might have a full scale war between Colombia and Venezula, and propably with Brazil will on Colombia's side. |

Very cool proposal. PR has a significant Brazilian following that should enjoy this and I think it would work well with FARC and Venezuela as OPFOR.
It's great that you are making appropriate statics for the location. I hope you plan to create lots of new vegetation as well to fill the jungle, PR is a bit lacking in that area right now and it would help other maps as well. As has been mentioned, make sure you aren't modeling any duplicate assets that can be sourced from other BSS mods (USI, EoD etc.) and other PR factions. You don't want to waste any time when you have such an ambitious project underway, 4x4km jungle maps are quite a task on their own. Good luck, I'm looking forward to playing in the South American theater and learning a little about Brazil in the process. |
