Well,they're a part of the navy..That makes them alot like USMC,as they're a branch off of the US NAVY.
I think having Royal Marines in PR would be awesome..I also never really brought it up around here,because I thought they were so much like the UK ARMY,but more tacticool,and have a different type of mission.They are for sure needed for UK Amphibious maps though.

^ Exactly.They don't wear berets in combat.If you go to say youtube,and watch videos of Royal Marines in Afghan,you'll see they look just like UK ARMY guys,but better combat skills,lol.

The Royal Marines are much more like a commando unit than a army where the USMC are really just a army with amphibious assault training shoved ontop. Its kinda hard to explain but due to there size difference the Royal Marines have to fight in a more "SF" way to get the job done, they are also more of a force for taking out small critical objectives rather than the USMC that is designed for really fighting in a conventional manner, not that the Royal Marines do not fight in the conventional manner they do, espically right now in Afghanistan etc but they could not fight a war on there own

A good book to read to understand the RM better is 'unscathed' by Major Phil Ashby RM.
He was a weapon inspector with teh UN in Somalia, then the RUF broke the ceasefire so he and his comrades threw the blue stuff in the bin and used their E&E training to escape. Its also not very long
