Would be nice to have a heavy machine gun kit.

Well, Actually this is a MMG (Medium machine Gun).
The HMG (Heavy Machine Gun) is suce as the M2 .50 Cal (Vehicle Mounted, or Crew Served)

But yes, i agree, but its been mentioned before (The British have the GPMG, i.e. very similar to M240 )

I know it's been suggested, but with the new deployment system, it's far more reasonable. All the DEVs have to do now, assuming a 0.8 appearance, is remove the 'assault mode' for the HMG, which means that it can only be fired while prone.

M240 is being used as a GPMG not in the HMG role. It would be great to have that distinction between Light, Medium and Heavies, but in reality they are allocated according to the number of soldier (ie. platoon, squad, company etc. etc.) and the current use of Squad Automatic rifles is great.

/ive seen the PR Gympy model around places.

the main problem the devs have is these guns are belt fed, and they have no realistic way of replicating it IIRC

Yes.
The Britsh have the GPMG L7.
In Europe, the M240, MG3 and M60 are classified as HMG.
The M2 are supporting means.

AGHH!!! My bad, I clicked on this from the "new posts" section and assumed it was in PR Suggestions. My bad! Sorry for the 2 second lock :P

Reopened. Yeah, please, get some guys working on this, especially for the factions already in PR, then hopefully we can see them added. Hopefully :P I'd love to see the added firepower of the heavier machine guns

They make allowances for other game features, such as parachutes. If they wouldn't remove all parachutes because there are no animations, why would they exclude HMGs (MMGs, w/e) because there's no way to properly animate a belt-fed machine gun?

It would make a convenient excuse to deny the idea, though.
