Default BF2Freelook - POV Hat on Joystick

I think I might have put this thread in the wrong section, could an admin or moderator move it if it's in the wrong place?
Hi,
Not sure if I am the only one who had this problem, but I will post it anyways
My problem was that I was unable to bind the POV Hat directions to Bf2Freelook, so I tried to figgure out a way to bypass that. I ended up modifying a script for AutoHotkey and setting it up to work they way I wanted. After some changing in the code I managed to get it working ingame Only bug I found with it is that it only works horizontaly, which is kind of sad, but it is still better than nothing
So if there are other PR players who are not able to bind their POV Hat keys to BF2Freelook and really wants to be able to use it ingame here is the way I did it:

1. You will need:
  • BF2Freelook (FreeTrack Online : Download)
  • You will have to use these same numpad numbers binded to BF2freelook as displayed in this image (unless you are able to change the code yourself and set it up as you want ):
  • AutoHotkey (http://www.autohotkey.com/download/A...keyInstall.exe)
  • Script - modified to work with BF2Freelook (https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18526713/PR/AutoHotkey.ahk)
If it opens up a website with the code, just press CTRL+S and save the script as it is
Install BF2Freelook and AutoHotkey if you haven't allready.

    2. How to make it work ingame:
    • Put the script (AutoHotkey.ahk) into My Documents folder, if prompted replace the old one with this script choose Yes. Then run AutoHotkey.
    • Start BF2Freelook and make sure the settings are correct.
    • Start PR and play! See if you can look around with the Hat on your Joystick. Make sure Numlock is on!
PS: I disabled POV Up/num8 in the script because it simply did nothing ingame. The POV Up is also the key I am using to change weapons in aircrafts, so I figgured out it was best just to not use it

nice but umm, you do know there is already a POV HAT switch system built into PR? Just need to set your hat switch up like the following: (this is only the 4 way setup, is possible to do 8 way)

to get this:

Ye, not many people do... Somebody really needs to sort out a tutorial on how to set this up, I only know how to do it with Saitke's Programming software, but only works on Saitek Sticks

I use a Logitech Extreme 3d pro, and don't think I got the option to program my Joystick to do the same thing as you do with the Saitke Programming software.
If PR allready has the POV system built in, I suppose people could still use the script, but just skip the part which is about using freelook as a "brigde" into the game? And instead set up the ingame controls to match up with the numpad numbers.

If you have a Saitek stick, then you can download it here: Download Saitek Drivers and Software | Saitek.com

Download latest drivers, but mainly the bit you need is the latest "software", then just program it as per my above pic
Only slightly complicated bit is the central position, which you need to program an "advance key press" on, which is 1 pushed, then released 1ms after its pushed, so that its not constantly pushing the 1 key when you have your hat switch in the centre, but this enables you to go back to normal, frontal view when you've stopped looking around.

Here is a video showing what it looks like for me using the two methods.
I hate windows movie maker, sorry for the random title placements.
