[QUOTE=Snazz;1320971]iirc/QUOTE]
Well, I didn't intend to make constructive criticism nore a cliver post... We were playing and when this map download it was like, what the hell!!! Just wanted to express our feelings which were at this moment pretty negative. I respect the Devs' work (of course, who doesn't), but sorry to say that I don't like PR:BF2 hypocrite realism. Don't believe me if you want, but many people are thinking the same way, especially about the unrealism of some maps, when you found Canadian in Siberia and British in Chechenia. Only difference, they don't care at the end. I'm the only one who do and that makes me an assh*** So if you want sarcastism: "Oh my God, PR 0.91 is pure awesomeness, everything is perfect " So once again, I ask a question: why did you replace the flag with this strange one and why did you put British in Chechenia ? (and same with the other maps with Canadian in Siberia, Russian in Libanon). In fact I already know the answer, which isn't an answer: "we don't care about realism on the maps, we don't want to hear about politics and religion etc... The flag gives to the mapper more freedom, he can make maps oustide of Chechenia..." Well, then someone may answer me for example what the maps between the IDF and the Hamas depict, and why did you keep the USA flag, we could have change it so it feet more factions and more maps?! Well, you will answer me this is bullsh**, I say the same to your answer. But that's my point of view and I know what's coming... Doesn't stop me to play this mod which aside from this small problems, is very enjoyable. Again thanks the Devs for your hard work and for this mod. You know how much I love it. But please, try to consider what I just said, try to understand what I mean. You know, spare the rod and spoil the child. Cheers. |

The mod has always had fictional conventional conflict, most people would know that MEC is not a real faction and that invading China or Russia is far fetched. You're expecting it to be completely realistic in every aspect when the devs never said that was their aim and often remind us otherwise.

You're implying this is some sort of recent change in direction, when it's actually always been that way.

Well, except for my first post, the two others are constructive criticisms. I can't expect PR to be realistic in every aspects, or else I would engage in the army if you see what I mean...
We can be fictional and realistic. MEC is more easier to keep than doing a whole new bunch of new factions, of course! China and Russia ennemies of the USA, well it's fictional but not unrealistic or else my studies in history were useless... You can be realistic and still be fun and fictional, just study a bit of history and geopolitic and you can make realistic battle scenarios. But when I'm looking at the new maps, I don't feel it this way... Of course all of this is not new. Bu the actual militia flag and the new unrealistic maps are, that's why I said that. Quote:

PS: and when I say hypocrite realism, it's because I feel like it's working only in one way. We don't want scenarios, politics and religion in PR, but what about the IDF and the Hamas? What about the Insurgents against the GIs? etc etc. We want realism for the weapons and the gameplay, fine, but not the other way, with the maps and the factions. I remember very well when the Devs said we can make maps with European country such as Britain, against the USA!!

Double post sorry.
Snazz, I remember the funny thread about NZ against Australia. Well, all of this was a pretty funy thread with nice videos, but could you expect a map with NZ against Australia ? Of course such a map would be funny to play, especially for you (mean people from this two countries) I guess... We could find realistics facts for such a thing to happen, you must know better than me. But would you call that a realistic battle scenarios. Except that nothing would stop a mapper to make it happen. And if it was make in a series of Australian maps, would that mean it's natural? |

who cares, if it was "realistic" battle scenarios the hole mod would be set in iraq and Afghanistan only.

Calm yourself now, think about what your saying 1) the British aren't in chechnya, those of us who have played PR for a long time knew Fools Road as a British Vs militia map long before the Russians were even ingame. Over the years British forces have fought such forces IRL, though mostly as part of a NATO/UN group, e.g. Bosnia. Fools Road is just a scenario. 2) Who would you rather fight in Yamalia? Doesn't matter as long as its Russia Vs a NATO power imo 3) Beirut, imo I would like MEC to be on instead of Russia. HOWEVER!!! We needed a map to show off the awesome new Russian desert camo. So calm thyself, and enjoy your gametime.

How bout we all just agree that the game is good no matter what. I know it says Project REALITY but its a game how realistic can you get...unless you wana spend a couple hundred dollars to get a very nice sound system so the sounds are as loud as the real ones and get the new flak vest they have that simulates a bullet or a grenade hitting you...
