Shouldn't the Taliban have this kind of turban/mask instead of that strange cloth they currently have?
Using this picture as an example of what im trying to explain

I don't mean to sound picky but it seems like the Taliban skins aren't up to par when compared to real life or the models like the UK in this mini mod. Why are they all wearing that grayish black shirt, wouldnt it be more fitting to have a few wearing a BDU jacket or something?

Wait till you have seen the rest of the Taliban models...

I have had very little time to create taliban models/textures but will continue to improve them when I can, most of my time has been spent on doing the British infantry and their weapons. And the Warrior and Scimitar, and the taliban vehicles.

Who said they were?

Most have a Pakol (or Pakul) on their head as the Taliban aren't too bothered bout covering their faces alot of the time.

@EvilWaffles, the steam version works fine with mods for ARMA2

Lol, wait until it is out and you've actually seen it before making your criticism of art assets like that.

Some of the PR:ArmA2 Devs have chats with some of VBS2's BIA Staff on a daily basis. Some use VBS2 in work on a regular basis. We are not ignorant of the BIS community, the BIS/BIA Team itself and the modding community around it.

We are aware of the differences between the BF2 and ArmA2 engine. We also have an experienced ArmA2 Dev team, who have done a fantastic job already. The modding scene in OFP, and P:UKF was what led me here, to PR. We have a great community here, and I'm sure they will enjoy PR's vision for ArmA2

ACE2 is a fantasic mod in itself. However, we are not in 'competition' with them. As a mod team, it's completely counter-productive. We will however create what we see as PR's vision of ArmA2. We don't expect all of the ArmA2 community to instantly love it. It will also start as a mini mod. May I remind you that PR:BF2 started this way, and it did quite well for itself coming from a 'young upstart' team in 2002 ACE2 have been established in the OFP/ARMA/ARMA2 scene for a long long time. ''Reminding" us of anything regarding other mod teams would be like you coming here in 2002 and saying "yeah, FH or POE is much better". We've been officially in the ArmA2 community as an entity for about 3 days....
How conceited, presumptuous and incorrect. Arma 2 is by no means an arcade shooter, I fail to see how anyone could argue that by dint of the fact that it contains shooting. Yes it is based on the definitive 'simulator' known as VBS 2, of which I own a copy; Arma 2 has all of the simulator capability of VBS 2, some of it is simply ommited i.e. FLIR (soon to be added by Operation Arrowhead) but nothing exclusive to the military that cannot later be added by mod teams, the difference is largely in marketing. If anything, ArmA 2 has the potential for more advanced AI processes and a much improved graphics engine. To call it a shooter is incorrect, yes you shoot, but there is so much more involved that it simply cannot be labelled by this alone; for one it takes vehicle use far more seriously than a 'shooter'. More importantly, your defensive stance is misdirected as my comments were for many of the PR community who have either never heard of ArmA 2 ( a disturbingly large proportion) or those who simply gave up on it after the first version. Perhaps on occasion you should have the humility to realise that not everything in this world is directed at you.

in regards to 3rd person. that option is entirely server side. so its up to the server to decide whether its on or not.
there is no official player count its up to mission design and server capabilities. but 100v100 is possible. (would literally be just 200 people playing and nothing else in the way of scripts and AI)

and for the last time FAST ROPES ARE POSSIBLE IN ARMA2
Everything is possible in arma 2, the main reason it is the engine of choice for devs interested in milsim.

I don't understand why some in the arma2 community feel threatened by PR.
I havent missed the point, I appreciate that it finds a certain middleground that the mainstream wants. The simple fact is, most teamplayers will also be fans of realism, make of that what you will. Also, I don't know where, why or how you get the impression that anyone in the community feels threatened by PR, the idea is ridiculous, there are so many damn mod teams in the community it is exactly that competition that keeps it fresh and exciting, bring it on I say. I know the PR team will say time and time again they do not want a competetive stance but the simple fact is, mods need support, the most successful mods are the most supported, therefore each time a high standard is met everyone else has to up their standard thereafter, this is a good thing. My post was not comparing the two communities or putting them against each other, I was merely underlining the fact that some PR Players (players, not devs) have some unfortunate impressions of ArmA and I was asking them to give it another go before deciding finally.

I think you're overreacting to his definition of ArmA2.

Whilst I wouldn't call one of the most realistic and hardcore games available 'arcade' it is still classed as a shooter. Being able to do more than shoot doesn't really change that.
