I like this idea, but am curious to see how it plays out.

I am worried that in public play this may cause squads to become fractured. Here's two scenarios:
1) without a rally, "joe squad member" really has no reason to spawn near the squad if he doesn't want to. With FOBs scattered about, "joe" will want to spawn as close to the fight as possible. With RPs in, usually the RP was the closest spawn to the fight.

2)My squad is walking behind enemy lines, I trip and fall off a cliff... It will be hard for me to convince a chopper pilot to risk himself to transport 1 guy behind enemy lines.


I can't wait to play this, and I really hope it works out. It is all dependent on the teamwork. Is there a way to spread the word about the beta to other people who rarely check this site? I'm talking about the "below average" public player that makes up a decent chunk of the populace that will be playing this no-RP game play if it makes it into a release. I just want to make sure that this is tested in as close to a real world PR environment as possible, as apposed to just experienced players testing it.

Why remove the RP's all together? Why don't use it as intended? A regroup of the squad.

Make the rallypoint to be deployable by SQL only and have it die on you after 30 secs. That way everyone will wait their spawn until the squadleader finds cover and deploy one, when 30 secs gone it will disappear. And you cannot put a new rallypoint for 5 minutes or something.

Hm, that's is actually a really interesting idea.

I've wanted Rally points removed for a very long time - and now you're considering doing it! Huzzah!

Nice joib making it a public test - this way we can really find if it works or not - I hope it does.

One thing that has crossed my mind though - will there now be rogue squads putting FOBs where no-one else on the team wants one?

I guess only time will tell and we'll find out at the end of the month. One consideration before even testing on the new servers:
Reintroduce the need for the commander to approve the building of the FOB - so that as well as the new non-rally team play ethic you are working on, if teams really want to work as one, they need a commander to do so, or no FOBs and an almost guaranteed loss of the map.

Nobody plays skirmish except clans against each others. PR is not about clan battles, vanilla is made for that.

This is actually a good idea to try, as you're totally right about squadmembers trickle off one by one every 30 seconds. I'm sick of people not waiting for the squad to regroup before attacking. Though they can do the same from a firebase, but firebase defences will now hopefully be used like they should as well, which is a good thing, instead of being huge empty indicators as to where to find a firebase.

Forward Outposts can now be built with one supply crate instead of two (all other deployables still need two).

So this means that you can drive out in a transport truck with your squad and build a FB, but in order to build MGs, wire etc. you need a second crate?

Thats close to brilliant!

On a side note, IF I were allowed to say something about PR in its current version without RPs, I would say something like "waste of your time".
