Default PR v085 - No Maps?

Hi All,

I'm new to PR, and have just installed v085 onto my pc.
(I only want v085 as I've also downloaded PRSP and I read it's best to stay with 85 for now..)

Anyhow, I have BF2 v1.41.
I installed 'pr_0856_core_setup.exe' then 'pr_0856_levels_setup.exe', both of which ran fine.

I have the following shortcut on my desktop:
'"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1440 +szy 900'

When I launch PR - everything's great. It all works except when I go to create any kind of server (Training or Deployment) there's no maps in the list:

I haven't installed PRSP yet.
I've tried searching the forums in case there's something obvious I'm missing..

My 'C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\levels' directory has 24 subfolders (maps) in it so I'm presuming they installed ok?

I would very much appreciate any help please.
Many thanks.

I had this problem.
Solved by starting vBF2 and loading a map.
After that, maps worked in PR.

Cheers Mj Pain.

I tried that but it didn't seem to make any difference (if by 'vBF2' you mean 'vanilla' BF2).

I installed PRSP and no maps were there either.
I restarted my pc and still no joy.

Then I removed the '+szx 1440 +szy 900' from my PRSP shortcut and all of a sudden the maplist appeared ingame (PRSP)
I then put those widescreen params back into the PRSP shortcut, expecting to have no maps in the list again, but they were still there. Very bizarre.

So I figured I'd discovered the issue, and tried doing the same thing for the PR (non-SP) shortcut.
Sadly, it didn't work for PR (non SP) and I still have no maps in the 'create local' lists for either Training or Deployment. Grr.

Should I try simply running the PR levels setup installer again, over the top?

Okay I found the problem.

In the 'General.con' file which is here on my machine:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002

..I had to change the line 'GeneralSettings.setUseBots 1'
to 'GeneralSettings.setUseBots 0'

No idea what that line does, as even with it set to '0' I still have bots in singleplayer BF2 and also in PRSP.

Anyhow it worked.

Nobody knew this already?
