Today I wanted to play few rounds of BF2, so I startet the bf2.exe and ... nothing happened. No Splash screen, no black screen, no sound, no windows, just nothing. But a look in the task manager showed me, that bf2.exe was running. I tried again and voilá, two bf2.exe's running, but no game in sight. I tried to delete the cache in My Documents, but this didn't help. Then I reapplied the 1.41 patch, didn't help either. I tried to launch the game as admin and, surprise surprise, it didn't work.
So I reinstalled the game AAAAAND ... it still doesn't work. I installed a new driver for my graphics card, which of course didn't help. You got any ideas? It worked a few weeks ago, last major change in the system was the installation of Service Pack 2. OS is Vista Home Premium X64. |

Just go back into your task manager, goto processes and right click on BF2.exe, and select End process tree. Your problem is that you game didn't close all the way last time, you might have Alt-f4'd out or it crashed on exit.

Any other ideas?
I figured out something new. When I reinstall the game, the voice setup won't start or better: The window doesn't show up, but the .exe in running. When I stop the .exe in the task manager, the installation continues, but Battlefield still doesn't work after the installation. |

Go to \My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\000* and check if the .con files looks normal.
I had a similar problem once, and it turned out a .con file had been corrupted after a crash. |

Tried this out before, I renamed the complete folder, without any helpful results.
I installed the game on my notebook and it worked. So I copied the complete folder onto my computer, tried again and again nothing happened ... -.- |
