PR Core and Levels wont load?

Ok i downloaded the pr v.86 from filefront and when i click on them to install i just start losing memory on my hardrive, i had 9 gigs and after clicking on the pr core it took me all the way down to 5 gigs until i turned off the computer.

I dont know where it fills in the space but i cant open them without losing anymore, ive already uninstalled most of my games and dont have that many items to delete.

I had v.8 already on the computer(not installed), it was the setup.exe version, which worked perfectly but i only had the core version not the levels so i dont know if installing the patch would work. If you could provide me the link of the exact website you got it from would be good thanks

I have tried the torrent as well and that didnt work either.

The installers are compressed. Try backing up the installers on a DVD after you install PR, then delete the originals to free up Hard disk space. Don't confuse virtual memory(on the HD) with real ram.
You should try to keep 15% of your HD free.

no thats the probelm im having. Its a 300gig hard drive, but the thing is just eating away my HD space. I downloaded it from filefront, both versions, took about an hour to download, then i clicked on the pr_v086_core_setup.exe(not exact name) and nothing happens...then i get message saying my disk space is low....one time i had 6 gigs and it brought me down to 580mb.

Ive been able to play PR before, version .8 i think, i could easily install that one but this one seems to be acting up

Have you done a virus scan lately?

pr_0860_core_setup.exe 1,77 GB (1.902.402.572 Bytes)
pr_0860_levels_setup.exe 1,41 GB (1.524.777.930 Bytes)

even if they are going to be uncompressed while installing they don't consume that much

Btw the installed PR folder is about 3,19 GB big...

And you can burn both on DVD and install from there

I had this problem too. (Well, the download wouldn't start for me, but I didn't wait long enough to see if it was eating up my hard drive space.) I found a thread that suggested I turn of User Account Controls, and it installed just fine after I did.

UAC is a Windows Vista Security Protocol that makes you approve installs and programs running in Administrator mode. (Maybe some stuff I don't know about too.) It can cause problems

You can find UAC in User Account Controls.

I think the problem is your partitions are incorrect, are you using FAT32 or NFTS? Fat32 Can't support files over a certain size.

okay ill try the UAC thing later on but what i find is that when i double click on it the PR setup comes up quickly then closes without me being able to click on it.

Ok the UAC(User account control) worked!! Thank god, i dont know how that helped because with the v.8 when the UAC was on, the thing seemed to work
