Default .86 install help

i installed the .86 patch over my .856 installation, however, when i tried to start .86 from both the shortcut and the actual exe (located in :\program files\_local\games\BF2\mods\pr\pr.exe), it launches vanilla BF2. what went wrong here? i have uninstalled .86 patch, and the install directory is correct in the installer (during its setup wizard). can anyone help here?

update:

upon trying to re-install .86, no matter where i point the installer, it tells me "You need to have Project Reality v0.85 to continue. Do you wish to go to the downloads page?" with a "Yes" and "No" button. i have a bad feeling that this is going to require me to uninstall PR completely...

update #2: I completely uninstalled PR, downloaded the 0860 core + levels, and installed them. Now when I launch PR, I get vanilla BF2, and upon quitting I get a system.nullreferenceexception. Now what? I am out of ideas

GOT IT FIXED!!! What I did was modify my command line from this:

"C:\Program Files\_local\Games\BF2\mods\pr\pr.exe"

to this:

"C:\Program Files\_local\Games\BF2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1

and viola! it worked. Hope this helps anyone having issues

But did you had the runtime error, because this didn't worked for me, and I already had tried that, that you did its only for helping in the performance of the game, this runtime error is something more serious !!!

having same issues, but every time i try and change the command it tells me its invalid, i have no computer skills so i cant figure out what ii am doing wrong,

"C:\Program Files\_local\Games\BF2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1

also the bold section how do i type this in, just lke so or what?
i'm confused.

ok so now i am over it, i'll come back to PR when they can get it right and i dont have to sod around stuffing up my pc, same thing happened with FH2 and i haven't been back there either. i know these are mods, but i can't see why this stuff has to be so bloody difficult.

Ok, everyone's command line could be a little different depending on where you installed BF2. Right-click on the desktop shortcut and choose "Properties". Then in the box labeled "Target", you should have the path to pr.exe in quotations like this:

"C:\Program Files\_local\Games\BF2\mods\pr\pr.exe" (Yours will be different)

Make sure that it points to the correct directory where PR is installed then add the

+modPath mods/pr +menu 1 outside of the quotation marks. That reads:

plus modPath space mods/pr space plus menu space 1
