Default RAM Fans; Needed or not?

Well, when re-buying my RAM (long story) I could only get it with the Dominator Airflow fan, so after installing the RAM and the Fan, I've noticed my CPU temps have gone up (still don't break 45C full load) and I assume that this is because the RAM cooler is interfering with the CPU Coolers airflow.

At the moment I haven't Overclocked, however I will be doing so soon so the temps will most likely get a bit higher as I up the voltage, so would it be better to have cool RAM and a slightly warmer CPU or will the RAM be good at higher temps?

The RAM is Corsair Dominator 4GB (2x 2GB) 1066Mhz @ 2.1V. It's the high voltage that makes me weary of heat.

Cheers for any advice, Vox.

As Ive said to you already, waste of time

The corsair Dominator has heat sinks on it anyway which would be ample.

Lol, ok, I wanted the Dominator and couldn't get it without the fans.

I'll remove it later in the week and get some OCing done.

Yeah, the fans aren't needed, was just putting it as I could, didn't think about CPU airflow.

Also, unwanted vibration from those fans on the dominator can cause problems too with RAM becoming un seated etc.

Lol, nothing wrong with more fans .

I never got round to OCing, but here's my non-OCed 3DMark Vantage score (3D Mark 06 don't work, I'll give you a shout on xfire Robbi to try and fix it.)

For some reason the CPU score beats a i7 965 @ 4Ghz by about 500 points!
