Hi there,
So I thought Id report a very annoying bug I have found. My technical knowledge is limited so I will just have to use layman terms. I have been playing PR for around a week now with only the odd occasional glitch or problem but nothing too serious. Every now and then however when entering a server, it will load up and if I hit the 'squad assignment' or 'squad allocation' button it will BSOD and crash my PC. After a hard reset everything appears normal, so I just took it as part of those weird glitches mods can produce. Anyway the problem is that after the most recent one I attempted to restart PR. It opens fine and the program appears stable. I am able to use the mouse and keys etc (this is an important part of the bug) right through the selecting of account, selecting server etc. Once the server loads however we get issues. Upon entering the squad allocation screen the game will not register any mouse or keyboard input- effectively freezing the game. The game continues on in the background however- timer still counts down and you can hear explosions etc in the background. The only way to get out of it is to open up task manager and stop the process from there. Windows will not register mouse movements either at this point but it will allow keyboard input. Once the client is closed down via TM the system becomes stable again. I figured this could mean I have a corrupt client and I will probably try to reinstall it and let you know how it goes. Just thought id put this in here in case anyone else has the bug and I will update if I can fix it. |

I tried to use bf2 to see if it effected that as well. It did. I tried a re-install of PR to no avail. Im in the process of reinstalling the bf2 client.

you have to install and run pbsvc.exe which reinstalls the whole PB system. run that, then run pbsetup, if that doesn't work, go to task manager and make sure that there isn't any services running that screw around with PB like windows defender, windows firewall, fveia.exe, or anything like that. what virus protection are you using? | |
