Also as silly as it may sound check your options menu under gameplay and check to make sure that the Connections Settings is set to correctly match your broadband speed (avoid T1(LAN) otherwise it may be sucking up more bandwidth then necessary) I've seen this option cause wonky problems with BF2 if not set correctly.

If all else fails you could try connecting physically to the router with a Ethernet cable and see if that helps.

ok uber ill give that a shot.......ill kill some processes. and disable punkbuster b and switch a channel on the wireless. I use 11 right now....ill swtich to like 6.

Have it as well. Certainly very annoying! Right out of nowhere the game freeze's and Im waiting for a blue screen of death, but than I get a main-menu saying: connection to the server is lost...

No lag or anything at all. Today i had on basrah, had it on almost everymap. 80% of the map gets played normaly, and than BAM! Doesnt go away until I reboot.

First off, if you disable punkbuster B then you will not be able to play on PB enabled servers.

Secondly, how often is this happening and for what length of time?

Have you ALt Tabbed at all recently as I find mine does the connection issue moments after that, sometimes up to ten minutes after...

Also, the affinity of your cores can effect gaming performance, such as dropping a connection to a server....

Another thing is some of you are using a wireless connection, still even though it is advancing wireless is still not fully optimised for gaming.

Also, what servers are you finding this on, all or one or two?

I dont use wireless. I have 15 ping on the chicago server I play on and still get these problems.

Also I hear its often caused by router firewall. I use a router for other pcs in home, but the computer I play from has a direct connection, so is it still a possibility?
