My shadows aren't very good - Page 2

Well, I got nVidia. And I'm VERY happy with it. I got the GTX275 for a good price at overclockers, and now I have increased functionality, performance, it runs cooler, its quieter its lovely.

But my shadow problem remains. What could cause this apart from the video driver? I'll try anything cuz the only game that doesn't suffer from these shadow problems on my comp is ArmA 2...for some reason.

Dx is updated, drivers are updated, I've been trying and and all settings in teh nVidia control panel (which has got lots of great options btw) but I'm stumped.

Its playable, but its annoying.

I still ahvent tried the non-EA downloader version. I'll do that next.

Could som1 send me the bf2.exe from their bf2 folder? (the CD version...) please?

BTW, maybe its a shader problem withing BF2, that needs a reinstall to fix, but it doesnt sound likely

Also, you can just download Ancientman's patched .exe, that'll be fine too

I've had these blocky shadows for years and thought it was a BF2 problem since BF2 is the only game that has these nasty blocky shadows. You mean there are people who don't have craptastic shadows?

I scanned a bit on the internet and it seems that using the drivers that came with BF2 fix that problem. Of course that's not really an option for you since the BF2 drivers predate your video card by several years.

I don't actually think this is a bf2 problem for me, cuz I get these shadows on a few games. e.g. COD4 and ETW

but not on ArmA....which is odd

and bf2 .exe attempt failed hard.
