This problem has been plaguing me for quite some time. PR doesn't seem to like my mic. I can hear people just fine, but they can't seem to hear me. The mic itself isn't broken, because when I use teamspeak (for a different game that I play), my mic works perfectly, so I have no idea what the problem is, and I'm hesitant to buy a new mic. It isn't a USB mic by the way; it has two plugs, one plugs into the earphone plug, the other into the...mic plug thingy.
Thanks in advance for the help. I'll include some system information, this might help. And by the way, I'm running Windows XP through bootcamp on an iMac: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) System Manufacturer: Apple Computer, Inc. System Model: iMac5,1 Processor: Intel Core 2 CPU T7400 @ 2.16GHz (2 CPUs) Memory: 2032MB RAM |

Have you checked your recording sounds to make sure that everything is muted besides microphone, and the sound is up all the way?

I tried the mic test, but couldn't figure out how to work it. How do I go about what you just recommended?

Goto control panel, sound options, sound/audio devices, device volume click advanced, when the master volume window appears click options/properties, goto mixer device at the top and select record/input, press ok and your options for recording will be there mute them all except the first one and microphone.

I'm at the properties page, and there are two bubbles that I can click, either "Playback" or "Recording" so I clicked "Recording" (it was originally on Playback), and the box below that said "Show the following volume controls" and then said "SPDIF Interface, Line In, Microphone" so I checked the box next to SPDIF Interface, unchecked the box next to Line In, and left Microphone checked...
Does that sound about right to you? |

When the boxes are checked that means they are muted so mute everyhing except the microphone line in is not your mic.
once you do that test it in the game. |
