Bump.

From some more talks, I've decided against the 4870, and am looking for a good quality NVidia 1 gigabyte card that no more than 200 dollars, most preferably less :P

Any suggestions considering what I have in the OP?

Robbi speaks the truth, a GTX275 is the competition for a 4890, and it wins against them according to some benchmarks (Google it if you want.)

Also, for 4870 competition then a 260 is spot on, and you wont notice the quarter of a gig loss in Vram, trust me

I don't think brand makes TOO big of a difference. However, I have used EVGA a bit so if I had to pick a brand it would be EVGA.

sometimes it does, some brands are known for better cooling solutions like HIS make a 4870 1gb with the IceQ 4 cooler and its heaps better then the other coolers.
