Low ping on BF2 - High ping on PR ?

What would cause someone to have a low ping on a local server while playing BF2, but when playing PR have a super high ping on a server in the same location?

Ummm, you mean a global server located locally, right? LAN servers (often called local servers) have 0 ping.

Otherwise, a difference in ISPs for the server could be the difference. Are the vBF 2 and PR servers on the same box? By the same clan? Or on different boxes from different clans?

Try a traceroute to the servers in question, to ensure that they are indeed in the same location/on the same ISP.

ive a ping of 9 on some servers located some 100-200km away. i doubt vbf2 would give an even lower.

Its actually for a new person who i talked into trying pr. he says when he plays vanilla servers in the UK he's at around 60, but for some reason the lowest ping on the list of servers playing PR is 250. weird.

since when were you supposed to look at the ping in the list of servers? its never accurate

I have the same problem, my ping is just 350 on servers, which i've always been ok on.
