Ok, so I was trying to fix a MD5 problem. Some how now when I try to join a game the message pops up saying, "CD Key not valid". I tried to reset through the registry and I tried to use the .exe in the support folder located in the Battlefield 2 folder.
Neither has worked, so I cannot join a game. If I missed another way to fix this in the troubleshooting topic, I apologize. |

md5 problem: update punkbuster manually
for the cd key not valid: you will have to reinstall bf2 (which is faster than a further reply anyways) |

Actually reinstalling has been causing more problems....
I have tried installing about 20 times now, each time giving me the pop up window saying, "Failed to install Battlefield 2, try from the beginning" or something along those lines. I have tried the manual uninstall, here. I have also tried doing the manual install here I am now awaiting an email back from a robot at EA. |

Well if you are able to read my post before, I am having troubles installing. But I will check if that works when/if I ever get Battlefield 2 installed.
Thank you. |

seeing how old bf2 is I can imagine your discs are too...
check them for defects - might be that some files cant be read you could also try to copy the disc (copy as in mark all files right click, copy) to your hd - if crc errors occur your disc is messed up and you need a replacement oh here is how to manually uninstall bf2 - maybe there are still some artifacts from your previous install (did your uninstall not end successfully?) How to manually uninstall BF2 to prevent issues. On FileFront |

I have a new set of discs that I was trying to use, those did not work. I have two sets of discs actually.
If you looked closely I already had a hyperlinked "here" to the manual uninstall, which did not work sadly. The manual install which said to put the files from the cds into the correct folder that I made (C:\Disk Images\Disk1 or Disk2, etc.) It also told me to take out all disks from all of my drives. So when I double clicked to start the install it said it wanted Disc 1 in, so I was a little confused on why the tutorial told me to take out all my discs. |

You might want to cross check with kilroy0097's:
The long fool proof way to fix most BF2 and PR mod Errors You might find something you missed. Good luck PS I always burn backups of my new PR downloads (core & levels) after I know they are error free, to DVD. Then I burn a backup to DVD of my BF2 folder. Most problems can be solved with drag and drop replacements. |
