It happens on bf2 and PR, whenever I join a server, no matter which server I join, high ping or low, I have a ping between 300-800 and rubber band everywhere. I've done a test or two, I'm told the results show that my internet speed is perfectly fine, I've downloaded and set up the bf2 patch fix that increases memory or whatever, but I am still having the issue.
I really want to play PR and this is the only thing standing in my way. I've just installed the game from a fresh copy of BF2 that I just today bought from the store, so I don't think reinstalling will resolve anything. Please help. |

Speed (bandwidth) and Latency (ping) are 2 different things.
It's common to have high download speed and high latency (ping) for Satellite users or certain types of WIFI or "mobile internet" like Rogers that uses a cell phone network. Do a tweak test here: Tweaking for speed - dslreports.com and speed test here: Speed Test - dslreports.com and post the result or URL to your result make sure your Punkbuster is up to date: Google pbsetup.exe and download. |

Tweak Results - dslreports.com btw, I haven't a clue what any of these results mean. |

I came to the conclusion my router was causing the issue, I was plugged into the internet through my router, but now that I unplugged the router and directly connected to my modem, I have almost no ping and everything is really smooth. I suppose we can call this fixed.

Yea routers have a lot of "settings" and almost all have a firewall that
would make you "unpingable"from the outside. You can update the firmware on the router which might help or disable block WAN ping requests within the router setup.Usually accessible via WEB interface. Anyway I made this thread just for that: http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-...ou-router.html |
