I am using Vista and i am having problem with PR regarding crashing to Desktop and also some BF 2 memory error pop up. I have 3gb of ram (since i am using 32 bit anyway, more than 3 is a waste) along with 3 GHz intel core 2 duo and ati radeon 4850 512 mb. I also get my background turn BLACK (erasing my wallpaper) when i try to go to desktop from PR. Any1 knows why or having same problem?

The whole BF2 Folder? i did installed 2 times PR Levels and nothing.

Sure, the whole folder. As a bonus, it'll clear your cache and speed up login times .

No need to do that! (because you need to set all your settings back)
I also had no maps to create local server.

After sniffing around i found this. Look in your profile C:\Documents and Settings\Login_Name\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001

Login_Name = your name you use to login to XP or Vista
0001 = your profile tied to the account you use to login on the EA servers. The more accounts you have, to more numbers you will have.

Look for the profile GENERAL.CON in the folder 0001
Open the file in your favorite editor.
Change the line:

GeneralSettings.setUseBots 1
to
GeneralSettings.setUseBots 0

After that i had all the maps available.

This setting-change was not needed in previous release of PR, so maybe it is a bug in the new 0.85. Developers can confirm this.

Heh, interesting, fixed the issue in the menu's for next release. Was left over code from making PR_SP's menu. Thanks for finding the cause of the problem, will amend the FAQ .

I've been gettin some nasty lag spikes while playing over the past couple of days, and servers coming up on my list with much higher pings then they actually have when I actually select them. Is this just a coincidence and it's just my ISP playing up, or has there been some connection issues with .85?

I posted in a different thread, but maybe my problem is related and more appropriately located here.

I use WinXP x64 edition. I have 4Gb of RAM. I have an 8Gb Pagefile. I can load and play any map for about 1-2 minutes before I CTD. No error message is generated. Nothing in the event logs nor is there a dmp file generated. On the off chance that it was related to the "out of memory" problem, I have already downloaded and tried the "fixed" BF2.exe in Ancient's 1st post.

I can however create a local training server and do not experience this problem.

Thoughts?

Ditto, local works fine, CTD within 5 min of loading into a level. Looking at the page provided it looks to be spanning the whole BF2 realm.
