I get CTD when trying to load any map in prsp.

Ive tried complete reinstall, the exe, resolution, hz, sound, texture, redownloads, you name it, ive tried it.

The shortcut doesnt work, this is what i changed it into to load the game
D:\Games\bf2\BF2.exe +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +modPath mods/pr_sp_08

PR MP runs just fine btw, its only PR SP that gives CTD.

PR_SP is not updated to 0.85, that is why it is crashing for you.

aperson, yes, you need to run bf2.exe, but you need to configure the parameters to make it load PR. If you can't see the installation guide, just rerun the levels installer and check the box for it to make a desktop shortcut. Then run PR off that desktop shortcut.

Your problem daones is that your either trying to run PR_SP, which isn't updated for 0.85, or your using 0.8 levels, where your supposed to use 0.85 levels. Either way, your not running PR 0.85 levels.

Yes it is SP, but I thought when the new SP came out it said it would work with the new 0.85 either way i cant play SP or MP now with the new patch, I would post back an error i get for the MP but it shows none and drops to the desktop upon joining a server. Am i crazy or I do remember when the new SP came out it said it would be compatible with 0.85 and someone edited the news? why would you guys release the new SP a few weeks before the new patch knowing it wouldnt work?

#1 Deleted all old files including the singleplayer and 0.8 PR

#2 installed 0.85 core, installed 0.85 maps

#3 installed the latest version of PR SP, installed SP maps

#4 singelplayer I get CTD, multiplayer I get ctd

you can try patching your bf2.exe to allow it to use more than 2GB of memory.

Is there any way to get this working vithe the "EADownloader" version of bf2? (I get a "please insert CD" when trying to run it.)

If your using the downloaded version you shouldn't need the CD/DVD.
To stop the "please insert CD" read below:

You must have the game installed. All the mini does is let you play without a real CD/DVD in the drive.

You need to mount the image to desktop.
To do so
Start daemon tools light,
it will put a icon in the system tray.
Rick click on icon and choose 'emulation',
all options on and click it.
Open icon again(right click) this time go to top of pop up window,
choose Daemon tools panel,click it.
It puts a tool bar above the system tray.
On the left side just after Daemon search you should see the 'mount'n drive manager'
click it.
In the window that opens you should see a row of icons on the lower half.
The first one on the left is 'add file' click it.
Navigate to your mini disk image (bf2mini-ski.mds or minibf2.iso) and
click on it to add it to window.
Once it's it in the window, click on it to select it
then click on the 'mount' icon.
You should now be able to see what image is in the virtual drive '0' on the right side of daemon tools panel.
That's it you should be able to play now.
The image will be there (in the 'mount'n drive manager')next time you reboot
so you don't need to 'mount' it after a reboot.

I get crashes with PR (not BF2) when i finish loading the map. No error is involved.

I tried lowering the texture settings, used the patched version on BF2.exe, altered the original myself with C++, and the problem is still persisting. There is no previous version of PR on my computer since this is on a wiped hard drive with a fresh install of Vista 64bit Home Premium.

I have 8 gigs of RAM. Yes it's overkill but i got a good deal.
