Try running a driver cleaner first as well, to remove any crap that might be left on your PC :

Guru3D - Driver Sweeper (Setup) download from Guru3D.com

Run it once - restart - run it again - restart.

Then install the drivers, and console - restart

Then check the settings in Windows control panel.

Then setup the card with the Creative console.

Im using that version, but my card is slightly different to yours ( PCI-E instead of PCI ) so your driver maybe different.

Ok I just tried a complete ultra clean reinstall, even deleted stuff from registry by myself after having the DS run there for 4 times (with restarts). I reinstalled the newest official creative driver (not the modified PAX one I was using before), reinstalled the newest console and still - nothing, it is not compatible and when I go to (for example) video settings and to audio settings again, the game just crashes to desktop quickly.

This is BS. Gotta wait for Windows 7 now.

It must be either something you're doing wrong, or you've got a dead card. Are all you motherboard chipset drivers up to date? Is the card in the correct slot, and are your PCI (not PCI-E ) settings correct in the BIOS?

The card is in a correct PCI slot, yup. What do you mean with settings in the BIOS? oO What is there to set about PCI?

And what is a dead card? I am afraid now cuz I bought it on ebay, it is only a few months old cuz the old dude gets a new one with the sound system.

BTW in my driver settings it's called "Creative X-Fi Audio Processor (WDM)". Anything interesting about that to tell? o.O

Disable your onboard audio in the bios.

I already did, the HD controller is "Disabled" and it also does not show up anymore in the device-manager. What I did not do yet is deleting the Realtek Driver cuz I might need it someday...
Should I do that or is there no way this could be the problem?

if its disabled in bios. It wont affect anything in your OS. So don't bother removing it.
