Not exactly sure whats happening here, I just received brand new parts aside from a PSU and my optical drive, hooked everything up, turned it on, and bam, nothing but a black screen. All the fans power up, my HDD is turning on, but there is nothing else going on. No beeps from the mobo, and no other sounds.
The optical drive also does not open at all, so i suspect it is not getting power for some reason, but i have checked all connections and they are good. Any help is appreciated, thanks. |

might be that the PSU is not strong enough - especially if you are running 2 gfx cards (suggesting >500W should suffice for regular gamer pcs, imho)
also posting your systems spec would help no beep can mean: - ram is not plugged in correctly/not installed at all - maybe you forgot to plugin the atx connectors? -pic -> http://img.tomshardware.com/de/2005/..._connector.jpg - cpu not installed correctly / overheated (maybe because you forgot to plug in the fan the first time?) - overheated mobo chip (eg. FSB) - (i think a short circuit could cause it too) i suggest you consult your motherboard manual |

As it stands now my video card is not even plugged in.
The specs are as follows: AMD Athlon X2 5000+ 4GB OCZ ram 500gb HDD Gigabyte nForce430 mobo As i said before it seems like everything is receiving power besides the optical drive (which was working perfectly in my old machine). |

Of course you're going to get a black screen without your video card...
Did you check your voltage selector on your PSU? |
