Default Crashing to desktop - Tried solutions and they dont seem to work

I've been playing on PR for a day or two and I crash the moment I load up a map that has the insurgent faction. I have resolution above 800x600 and my detail settings are at medium and I tried the fix that asks you to make the fonts file and i've even tried reinstalling PR. Nothing really worked.

Is there a differant way to solve the problem?

Edit: Its happening on more of the maps too now

After a crash run battlefield cleaner to flush out your video cache files

Still no joy?

Trash your BF2 cache files
Path:
C:\Users\'your user name here'\Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache

Throw EVERYTHING inside the folder named cache away.
don't worry the files will be replaced with new ones when the game restarts.

If you still have trouble trash the whole BF2 folder in your Documents folder. You will have to redo all your settings so back it up to an archive to be on the safe side first.

Good luck and have a
Happy new year!

I got the same problem after upgrading to a core 2 duo and new mobo and ram.

Look at the most recent dump file in your dmp folder, it should have the reason it crashed in there.

Uninstalled video drivers, ran driver cleaner and cab cleaner in safe mode, then reinstalled the video drivers. Problem solved.

I'v been playing for 4 weeks on my new vista PC without problem. Untill now i'm sudenly starting to CTD in random moments, but mostly shortly after joining a game.
Strange thing is i haven't changed anything, no new drivers or different settings.

If you can read this the bitch fell off.

I am getting this too. Just started today and seems to only happen after joining a server running an insurgency map.

Just tried deleting all the cache files and joining an insurgency map but it still crashed just after 5 secs. No error or anything just a CTD.

I haven't tried to fix it yet, reinstalling etc, but it might have something to do with the Ati drivers i'm using. I'm having quit alot of trouble with them. For other games it gives me an error read, crashing or recovering, not from ctd-ing from PR though.
I had my 4850 oc-ed just because i could not that i needed it, playing pr gave no problems, but fallout 3 and COD5 would crash until i used regular settings. So hopefully that's the reason PR has started to crash aswell.

If you can read this the bitch fell off.
