To fix this problem:

1. Right click on bf2 or pr icon dosent matter which.

2. Make sure your on shortcut tab

3. Where it says TARGET there should be some text in there and at the end it should say fullscreen 1.

4. Delete the 1 and make it a 0

5. GO in game and go to your options, video and change your display mode to what ever your screen can handle. Mine was 1280 by 1024@75hz.

6. Then repeat steps 1-3 and replace that 0 with a 1 and it should work.

All you need to do is do what Bosco said in the first reply. That works fr everyone else. There's no need to mess around with shortcuts.

Now I got the same problem.

I didn'T changed anything since my last match yesterday.

If i start the game in window mode i get no error message.

Also I go to online deployment and I join a .86 server. So this isnt the reason.

Problem solved.
Afterwards the game said my CD-Key isnt valid.
But this problem is solved too.
