PB heart beat

ok i just randomly started getting a punk buster heartbeat failure whatever that is i need to know how to fix this so i can play my fav servers again

Try manually updating punkbuster, using the PBSetup

PunkBuster Online Countermeasures

If ever anything goes wrong with punkbuster, an update will "usually" iron out any routine problems. You can also try Ctrl+Alt+Del and end the PnkBstrA.exe (it will auto start up when ver you restart PR/BF2 again).

i already tried that it lasted for bout 1 round and stopped again

I just did a quick google search and from a few comments it appears your ping is getting "choked", by background programs.

Do you have a lot of programs running in the background? things like quicktime, google taskbars that sort of stuff? if so stop a lot of them and try again.

nothing new at all i have EVER had running is kaspersky anti virus software when i run BF2 i ahve 89% free CPU power so

i'll try it with AV off but since it has always been there i see no reason for it to change anything
