Strangely this only happens since I updated BF2. I'm using a 8600GT, latest drivers, I really have no idea why this is happening. The CPU/GPU temp is under normal levels, I'm running with all options maxed out, 1028x768@60hz (Something that before I patched to 1.41 worked perfectly with no frame drops).
I'll put a screenshot up in case anyone wants to see what it is (Although is kinda unlikely it shows up on the screen when I screenshot it) |

delete your bf2 shader cache located under "...\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache"
delete every thing in there |

Everything's set to factory specifications. Also, here's a screenshot ![]() It also seems to be ignoring my AA settings. | |

Is the outside of the merlin supposed to be that black? That also looks like a problem, but idk. Never in the merlin, tbh.
Prolly the card is just defunct/old/in need of replacement? Looks like it to me at least... Does it do it on other 3d games? |

I sometimes have a similar problem on my 8800gts, however, if i turn down the AA/AF in the Nvidia control panel it corrects itself.

It's a card issue in the 8000 series. Turning off AA from BF2 and enabling it in the Nvidia Control Panel, or vice versa, usually corrects the problem.
8800GTS in my computer has many graphic issues (and seems to just take a dump at regular intervals, all over my game screen). |

If you have fairly new drivers thats probably your problem. Nvidia and ATI don't make their drivers to support outdated games 100% (such as bf2) but instead CoD 4, crysis, TF2, etc...
Going with older drivers usually fixes problems in outdated games. |
