This server requires you to enable punkbuster dialogue box

Hi, I've gone through the whole complicated process of updating punkbuster by moving dll files around on PR 7 loads of times now and it's always worked, but not on PR 8 I went through the same process and guess what...

On each server, I get a dialogue box that reads:
'This server requires punkbuster to be turned on'

I've already tried two methods of updating punkbuster and reinstalling project reality, and I still can't even get to the map loading screen.

i have the same problem,installed pbsetup and done everything they said on the pb website,anyone got any ideas?

sorry for making you guys seem silly, but there is a very simple way to fix this problem. on the screen where you select a server, down in the bottom right, there is a gamespay and punkbuster logo. next to the punkbuster logo there should be a box with an X thru it. if the box has no X thru it click it and everything will work. this happened to me. i unintstalled, reinstalled, then updated pb only to find that all i had to do was click the box. just take a look there. again sorry for making you guys look silly, and please know that it happened to me as well.

Holy Sh*t you've got to be kidding me!!!! I've done every fix under the sun and still get this error!!!!

I think .8 has a bug that unchecks that box for some people. Maybe the Devs added it an idiot test. I beat my head against the wall trying to figure this out, only to realize how simply it was. Awesome.

What about those of us who actually don't have that Punkbuster check box ingame? I updated PB and everything, and I have it on the original Battlefield 2, but apparently not in Project Reality, anyone might know something about this?

The Pb check box has been removed from PR now, can I confirm that you are getting the checkbox error and not some other PB error?

Well it seems to just kick me from a server after a minute, then tell me that it isn't enabled... sort of. If you need the exact name of it, I could check.. but the description should be kinda clear I guess?
