Okay. I tried it out on a local server (then reset the settings with the backup) and it worked! Great to know that this can be fixed. It's a mess to sit inside the A10 for example, it's a flicker-fest in there.

The problem with weapons is that in PR, renderer.tweakFarPlane1p = 15 for all weapons, which is too much, lowering it to something like 2 should solve the weapon glitches. And increasing renderer.tweaknearplane should solve (at least partially) other non-weapon flickerings.

I already informed the Devs about that, so expect it to be fixed in the next release.
what does the setting do actually?

I made a thread on this subject some time ago, but it was instantly moved to the internal forums.

renderer.tweaknearplane, .tweaknearplane1p and .tweakfarplane1p adjusts distance between culling planes:

You can only see stuff between those planes, everything outside is not rerndered.

In simple words, the shorter the distance between those planes, the better precision will be achieved during 3d calculations and rendering.

I'm no expert though, so I might be wrong.

Just wait for the patch. Is it really so annoying?

Nooo, it's not like lowering the distance, no way. 1p weapons are rendered separately, right now, 1p weapons have 15m view distance, so 2m of that distance is for drawing weapon, and other 13m is just an empyness.

In case of non-weapon rendering, I suggest moving near plane few cantimeters away and tweaking it for different vehicles depending on their zooming ability. That should fix it, I hope.

So, what happens exactly? The far plane and near plane texture sets interfere with each other?

What happens is the lack of z-precision, often called z-fighting.
