No PR exe.

So I installed the new patch (.756) and asked to put an icon on my desktop. It didn't do that. So I tried the old one and It gave me an odd screen telling me that the PR icon was a BF2exe. not a PRexe.. The thing is, I can start PR by going into BF2 and choosing to activate it under the Custom Games tab. Any ideas on how to get an Icon working again?

I installed a couple of times. I have tried administrator. I have used the check box to put a desktop icon. so I looked to make one my self. No "pr.exe". could someone url me just the pr.exe? is there a tarball that I can use instead of self extracting?

ps. its not in either "/program files" or "/program files (x86)" I have done a complete HDsearch for this file.

please help as i can not get my insurgent game play in.

Guys, it installs into C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe

Thats the pr.exe you need to run off of. Make sure your shortcut you use runs off THAT and NOT the bf2.exe. Change it in the shortcut, make it link to
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe"
and NOT
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\bf2.exe"

well i am going to just download the complete update cause i do not have pr.exe

the full install did it for me..

32bit apps in 64bit vista get installed in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\" directory by default even if the installer points to "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\"

i cant say for everyone .. but thats how it works for me

Hmm. I've tried both methods listed but still can't get it. It tells me that the path "C:\\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" does not exist. When I go to that file to try and start it from there the pr.exe doesn't work either. I think it thinks that the Pr.exe is the Bf2.exe. Any suggestions?

Yeah me too, when i start the game i get a warning screen and tells me to update my exe press Alt F4 blah blah blah ,I also run vista 64
my exe copied n pasted

I've completely unistalled PR ,patch,core,levels then re-installed them core ,levels then patch in that order and i still get the same screen

have you tried the large file? The complete install worked for me, the patch didnt. If you are using vista .. maybe run as admin .... thats what i did and it worked.

UPDATE : i ran program as adimin and it works, thank you very much...... send this man a crate of beer's

I was using my old PR exe to start the game, installed patch put new exe on desktop, then ran new PR exe as admin and it worked thanks mate
