Default Multimedia Video Controller Drivers

Specs:

Vista 64
8800GTX
e6750
4gb Ram

Basically with this setup I've been playing everything on max including 8xAA and max res. (Texture filtering at Medium as this causes a clash somewhere.)

For some reason recently when I switched on my PC a couple of days ago it asked for my Multimedia Video Controller Drivers. I thought nothing of it and preceded ingame. Usually where I would get 110 FPS on any map its dropped to around 30.

Smoke especially seems to absolutely kill my FPS as well.

I tried uninstalling the Nvidia display drivers and reinstalling but this has made no difference.

Anyone help? Ideas appreciated. Please don't turn this into a hate-vista thread.

when you uninstalled the video drivers, did you delete the Battlefield2 cache folder, reset, clear registry, reinstall drivers, then run game and reset everything up again?

Also, make sure you have latest DX9.

If that doesn't work, remove the game and all folders, cache for game, then reinstall clean.

I forgot to clear the shaders. I was going to but forgot where they are located. Would I be right in assuming it's the..

My Documents -> Battlefield 2 -> Mods -> bf2 -> cache

Then delete all the folders?
