Logitech Pc headset 120

I've got the above logitech headset. Now this has worked for me (both mic and earphones) before, however i recently plugged it back in after getting the new PR and reinstalling BF2 an everything only to find the Mic wasnt working at all despite being registered on my soundcard as plugged in. Really have no idea what to do, ive tried fiddling with the settings and ive even downloaded Muvixer to see if that will work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

this may sound trivial but - please double check that it is plugged in correctly!

personally i don't believe in soundcards being able to detect passive 3.5mm plug audio devices

suggestions:
1. check if it however works when using the windows AudioRecorder
2. check if your volume control has the correct output device selected and also the right channel is ticked (Microphone, NOT Line In) - while at it make sure the lever is above 50% and you might want to try to switch microphone boost on
3. update your sound driver

also would be helpful, if you'd post your system specs, especially what sound card your using (onboard or sth else)
