i got a 7900GTX and no problems on fools road

maybe your card is broke? mine is over 3 years old, now, i think

don't know about yours but wouldn't be surprised if it just got "worn out"
maybe it is not overheating right now but was in the past (summer) and now it just comes up since it is stressed to the limits - just imo

(still sounds like overheating to me :/)

Colour bars like that are usually overheating of your video card. Make sure you have one of your MB temp sensors onto the controller heatsink to see how hot it is getting under load.

Simple, just try a new (i.e. a lesser spec video card) to see if you still get the "graphical glitches" if you don't get them any more, sounds like your card is suffering from the overheating in the past or currently.

Failing that, check the -specifications- of your PSU, make sure it can deliver enough current for your system. Clearly the power demands are important too.

Like most hardware problems, take out non-essential hardware. (some mobo extra power regulator cards can give graphical glitches also). Run the system with memory, cpu, one DVD drive, graphics, minimum Hard-disks. Does it still cause a problem?

Remember boys and girls.....

Bf2.exe affinity in task manager should be set to one CPU only.

Right click under priority on affinity and see.

I use CPU0 and High priority.

hmmm, seems my GPU temp was 75 under full load...

is this ok? (I went and cranked the GPU Fan upto 100%)

My +12V rails rated at 11.84 (EVGA Support Dude Said 11.90 or roundabout that number is fine).

I cranked my GPU Fan up to 100%, now under full load the card is alot cooler (63 degrees centigrade or roundabout).

I think I just solved my crashing problem - In my nvidia Control Panel, my global settings for "Anistropic Filtering" & "Anti-Aliasing" Were manually set by me to 8x for Anistropic and 4x for Anti-Aliasing. Since I changed both to "Application Controlled" I Seem to be having fewer crashes (all settings on High) Because i had it set to 4x AA in Nvidia CP, I did turn off the ingame AA (simply because it sucks...but it will have to do for now).

I do still get some pauses though, just not as severe as before...

Also that VoIP problem still hasnt gone away (even after trying what someone suggested: Turning Audio Setting down to "High")

And no way am I changing to medium, I aint spending Around 70squid on a sound card if I aint gonna use it!

you still should try it - since it can exclude some possibilities if the prob still occurs

Yes! results: No crashes, ever! Guess it was that Anistropic filtering causing the problem, just the video ram had to store too much i think.

VoIP problem, I now is an X-Fi issue... If only someone could find a soloution or atleast another way to temporarily fix instead of restartinf BF2 (The amount of time's I am SL and this VoIP has crashed on me is getting annoying).
