Default Sound stuttering

I'm having some strange issues with BF2. My voice bind sounds (ie, enemy spotted, commander noises, etc) are stuttering. My framerate doesn't suffer from this, I still get ~40 consistently. Bit its very annoying as you can imagine.

My specs;

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
2 GB DDR2-800 corsair ram
Sapphire Radeon x1950XTX
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 5.1 Soundcard
ASUS M2N-E motherboard
Western Digital 250 gig SATA hard drive
Logitech 5.1 surround sound
XP Pro

I also occasionally get a large black square in place of my ironsights when I zoom in on them. It's no an overheating problem, and i've reinstalled the game twice now. Any insight?

Tried the above, doesn't work. After fiddling around with my settings, it's specifically related to using hardware sound. I don't get the stutter at all using software.

That black square is a file corruption, I believe, as I've had it myself.
I downloaded the PR file again and it worked fine after that.
As to the sound issues; have you got the latest drivers? Always a good idea and may help.

What's French for deja vu?

I've got this same problem, don't think any other sounds suffer just all the voice bindings are really crackly and stutter badly, hardware rendering aswell. Thing is I had no problems before, had to reinstall windows due to bug, reinstalled PR and now it's like this.

Wont software rendering make the overall sound lower quality and disable EAX?
