Several possibilities. Often black textures/f*cked up polys are caused by the ram on your card crapping out on you, but since the card is new i highly doubt that. Or its your shaders.
1.)shader cache, clear the damn thing every time you start BF2-shader cache is located in mydocuments/bf2/mods/cache (delete the cache folder) Sure it takes like 2 minutes more to load the first map, but then the game performs better/no stupid flickering 2.)ram on card not being cooled/too much overclock, but i dont think thats your problem. 3.)lighting options in BF2-try with different lighting settings, medium, high, etc Im running a 8800GTS 320, and im using 162.18 drivers. 1280x1024, all settings high, dyn. shadows and lighting off, 8x AA. Just turn on color correction in your nvida control panel and it looks damn pretty, plus good perf. Its not a driver problem, im sure of it. Good luck |

But also last night i stuck my video card in my friends machine did a fresh install of windows and installed bf2 and pr and the problem magically went away, so it's not my video card. His machines specs differ from mine quite a bit, He's using a core 2 duo with a gigabyte board that has an Intel chipset. So this leading me to believe that it's a problem with the two chipsets I'm using (Nforce 4 sli, Via KT 800) both were released at basically the same time and that leaves me to believe they are very similar in architecture and somehow causing this problem. In a couple of paydays i think I'm going to bite the bullet i pick up a new motherboard and processor. | |
