Definitely not an overheating video card i have riva tuner manually cranking my vid cards fan to 100 % as well as 6 case fans with GPU Temperature hovering around 50 C which is well below the average Temperature for the G80 Family of GPU's most idle around 60 C and go up to 75 under load (See: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?s...hl=8800+temps). And while the problem does seem to be much Worse on Kashan Desert if you watch the video i posted, it's from Al-Basrah on .05.

I get the same thing but on buildings at distance. Definately more notiecable on the larger maps when looking through binocs. I does look alot like artifacts but not exactly the same behaviour. I think it is a texture issue or something to do with the way shadows are handled, but not sure.

Be carefull about the temperature vs. artifacts. You usually get artifacts from your vga memory overheating or from being clocked to high. Your GPU may be fine but the memory isn't. I'm not suggesting this is your problem and the fact that you know what Riva tuner is means you probably already know all this (just thought I would throw it out there )

I believe that part of the aliasing process used on the 7xxx series cards is not very good and causes alot of these graphical issues.

lol.... Did you even read my post before you made this generic response?

FYI I AM using the second fastest video card on the market right now, As well as the 158.22 Forceware Drivers, I've tried the 160.10 Beta's as well and it doesn't fix it. It Isn't a problem with my Graphics card as every other game i play works perfectly. Even unpatched Bf2 works perfect but as soon as i bring it up to 1.41 this problem starts.

Please... I really do appreciate the help and the suggestions but at least read the problem i am having along with the information i provide before suggesting i upgrade the $400 graphics card i just bought last week.. lol

Also, i found a thread on another forum with someone having a similar problem but not exactly the same and he fixed it by Installing the 1.4 patch, then the 1.41 instead of just running 1.41 on the unpatched game. I'm going to try this later tonight and i'll post my results.

I really think it is some issue with textures and shadows. I noticed with 0.6 beta that this black flickering and textures acting weird was more apparent. I have yet to find anything that fixes it. There may be some settings in the nvidia control panel that can help. I would try the different image quality settings to see if it changes anything. Then I would read the descriptions for each individual setting, things like transparent antialaising etc. to see if one might apply. Not sure what the fix or problem is.

interesting... i used to get this on my old comp, not sure if i have seen it on my new one, i was so used to it. i'll have a looksee. question: does this occur at far distances or at all distances? mine was most noticable at long range through scopes/bino's.
