Well if we had 250,000 on the ground we would have them by the balls and their hearts and minds would follow.
But we have a pussy nation growing more like Europe every day and so we did it on the cheap with lots of civilian contractors and not enough troops.
Guns and Butter simply does not work.
Can you imagine if Murtha stood up and said" hey, I think this was a mistake but we are in it now and need to win so please, for your country, take 2 years off your college plans and enlist in the armed forces and help to bring our boys home sooner".... ?
Instead, that worthless scumbag keeps padding his own pockets and shitting on the troops.

Can you imagine if the troops went around pointing their guns at civilians as a warning? I can, Baghdad.
Can you imagine if the troops went around offering sweets and food to children and families? Oh... wait, yep, it's called Basrah.

Have you read up on the Al Faw Peninsula yet ADA?

But I have read a lot about the US troops giving candy and other things to the kids.
You can't compare basrah to baghdad and I think you know the differences in the regions as well as the fact that the UK has a lot more experience in that sort of enviroment.
I would also risk pissing off the US guys by saying ya'll probably have a more professional military, but give us another 200 years to catch up.
Imperialism isn't something you learn in a few years.

We are learning now.
We are far from losing and we can win and leave Iraq at least as f cked up as it was before we got there.
But it is going to take someone with some balls to get it done and Obama doesn't have a clue, Edwards is a shyster so it's Hillary or Guiliani and I don't trust Rudy.
I'm not touching the IRA thing as I don't want to get banned.
