I'm probably wrong here, but isn't that just a limitation of the mouse itself, and why a higher resolution mouse is preferred?
Have you tried fiddling with the sensitivity? |

DPI and sensitivity doesn't change anything except the slower or faster movement. The grid stays.

MX518 is a pretty sensitive mouse. I guess it doesn't happen in other games? Does it happen in BF2 vanilla?
Also your mouse should always be on the highest DPI setting and then you tone down the sensitivity to the right speed. |

DPI is sensitivity but it also is the resolution which ur mouse is able to scan? i remember reading something about how if u have a high DPI mouse, u should set the DPI settings to the highest setting and then lower the windows mouse sensitivty setting.
tho it seems like ur BF2 is doing weird things. hm, you can try going to control panel > mouse settings > and on one of the tables like Pointer options, turn off Enhance Pointer Precision. i find it makes it easier to aim and do stuff with that off. |

i am having the same issues for years/forever
i never found a fix - and other games are fine its seems that it is more appearent the higher your resoluiton is (i am at 1920x1200 and sniping is horrible) only thing that helps a bit is to lower the sensitivty on the fly and wiggle around - the grid doesn't seem to be consistent since its sometimes possible to hit to a certain pixel on the second try if you approach from another direction/angle fyi: i got it with razer diamondback and razer diamondback 3G on a special mouse surface on high and low sensitivity (razer) i never touced win sens except for turning off acceleration. happens in vBF2 and other BF2 mods alike |

I've noticed the same thing in PR and never with any other games. Although I've got a pos generic wireless mouse.

Ive got a Logitech G500 and when I knock the sensitivity right down then it literally feels like its hanging until you move it enough to jump a grid...

Hi Ive been lurking on these forums for a while but Ive just signed up because ive got the solution to your problem
I use an mx518 and I had this problem for ages and it used to really bug me. Anyway Im guessing youve got your mouse sensitivity cranked up high in your game options. Go into controls and lower the mouse sensitivty to maybe 1 or 2. Then you can increase it on the fly with the mouse but more importantly you can then move the crosshair 1 pixel at a time. Please if this works then come back to the forums and let me know its sorted it for you. It worked for me. Goodluck |
