Yeah the mouse movement jumps by preset amount of pixels which results in small areas that you can't actually aim at without moving or relying on deviation to land a hit.

OK I just checked. My in game mouse sensitivity in the controls is set to 1. I used to have the very same problem until I lowered it. Im using a logitech mx518 and i increase sensitivity on the mouse as and when i need to.
Has anyone tried my fix? Worked for me! |

DPI is not the problem here, even if you have high DPI or low DPI it doesn't mean it jumps like that it should cover all pixels just fine. Best to try have different settings in-game or in windows settings. The software side sensitivity is basically "how much mouse moves for each dot", so if its set to high it looks like its skipping.

I know DPI isnt the problem. Forget your DPI settings. Im going to have one more attemp at explaining the solution for anyone with this problem.
Go into the "controls" menu in the "game options" and on the first screen change your sensitivity to 1. Thats it!! I lived with this really annoying problem for a long time (teamates screaming at me "shoot him" and I just couldnt do it past 200 meters) until I accidently come across this solution. If I turn the sensitivity back up in the games "controls" menu then the problem comes back. If I turn it back down to 1 or lower the problem goes away. There is no reason why anyone should have this problem because it really is that simple to correct. Please, if youve got no experience with this problem, then dont post as it offers no real help. I cant really explain it simpler than this. Hopefully someone will benefit from my post. |

I am able to confirm that nvidia3dvision's suggestion is the actual fix for the grid like mouse movement problem in BF2.
I tested with my actual ingame sensitivity of 1.9 this caused mouse jumps of over 8px and was significantly visible. I then lowered the ingame mouse sensitivity to 1.0 which improved the skip but was still at around 5px. Changing the ingame sensitivity to 0.1 brought the ultimate improvement and there was no more skipping, it was actually ~1px movements. However I would like to mention that the decreased ingame sensitivity has strong effects on gameplay due to slower turning. I could compensate this by maximizing the on-the-fly sensitivity of the mouse (driver program) and increasing the sensitivity in windows mouse settings. I also suggest trying out if one can work with accelerated mouse movements. -> actual solution was to lower the ingame sensitivity as much as possible (still playable) |

Timely thread for me, I picked up a Logitech G5 this week to replace a failing MX518.
Spent a couple hours in stand alone co-op trying to take advantage of the higher dpi. The jumping is much more noticeable when turning down the mouse dpi using the button and increasing the in-game option. I'll now try it the other way around as suggested - I was hoping to use the on-board mouse high DPI button setting when in tanks/AA but I'd rather have smoother infantry aiming. Thanks, |

sig? Don't need no stinkin' sig - all those graphics and blinkey colours waste bandwidth and give me a headache...
