stop downloading pron
seriously though: you should check if your room mates are downloading, if there are background tasks and if the router is set up correctly do you get this in vbf2 as well as pr - any other games too, stuttering, rubberbanding, tiny lags? what have you changed? (drivers, new software other updates, hardware) |

It's alright buddy. I get the same problem at times. Do you live in an apartment? If that's the case, you could be told you're getting a certain internet speed, but it's actually split between different apts. I live in a barracks, and I have that problem. So there are hot hours where a bunch of people are on and the internet lags hard.

Hi,
I live at my family in a house and we have 3 floors or in america you say 2? - Ground (Laptops 2/3) - 1 (Router) - 2 (my room 1 PC and Ps3) I already tested nobody on it and still got the problem. I think it all started when the router was going to the 1st floor. So i just dont get it. I got same problems with the ps3. This all realy sucks. |

I am asuming you are using a wireless router and your PC is connected via WLAN.
There is ofcourse the simple possibility that your connection stability is poor and it keeps breaking up. This can be caused by multiple things: 1. output signal is too low 2. other interfering networks 3. other interfering devices Here is what you can try for each cause: 1. a) this is actually pretty simple: It means that the antenna on the router should point the same direction as the antenna on the PCs WLAN-Card. (its about directional characteristics) b) go into the router settings and try to find an option which allows you to adjust the signal strength -> increase this to the maximum -> see if it helped. 2. WLANs are using frequency channels. Some routers can automatically select the best channel (try to find that option). If you router does not allow "auto" channel then you have to scan the area for networks and the channels they are using. Then manually set your routers channel to the one with least WLANs on it (if there are multiple with the same rank try to chose one thats farthest away from another heavily used one). Note: some routers are able to list all other networks and their channels 3. Not much you can do here except for unplugging or relocateing devices with heave electro-magnetic radiation such as microwaves. if you need more help on how to do things I suggest consulting your router's manual and googling. If you still need help post the exact model and brand of each network device (router, WLAN-Card) |
