I have had the same issue with Borderlands and (of all things ) GTA 4 with my XFX 4870 1gb. Over the last three weeks I have been pulling my hair out trying to fix the problem. I've been through 4 versions of catalyst drivers, adjusted fan speeds, tried compatibility mode, set processor affinities, tried new sound drivers, sacrificed small animals to various and sundry pagan deities. I even bought a new 650 watt corsair power supply. All to no avail.
Gave your fix a try yesterday, and it worked like a charm! Was able to play for hours with the memory clocked at 875. So, I'm a tad peeved that the card won't work at stock settings, but at least it *is* working now. Thanks a lot for the help! |
