Default nvidiaCP tweaks - PR relevant

Anyone familiar with nvidia software, drivers and it's control panel will know its not that good.

I've done some research and simplified the control panel, how certain settings interact with BF2/PR and what settings work best.

Online sources include tweakguides, IGN and nhancer.

My OS: WinXP 32bit -SP2
I don't think the CP changed with Vista/Win7 except from maybe the introduction of a few DX11 settings. The example below features Forceware v92.91 - Not the newest I know but its the one that I feel works harmoniously well with the BF2 engine.

Edit: In nvidia control panel since 2012 there is a option called Adaptive V-sync, this should be set to On. It reserves power to maintain a more constant/average frame rate, which looks better to the eye, e.g. a locked 45fps is better than variation between 30<>100.

Removing glitchy nvidia Grass in-game
In the 0.95 Trailer on moddb is this Grass bug, this happens when the shaders get corrupt.
It can be easily fixed by doing this:
1 Delete the corrupt shader cache folder in the Battlefield 2 folder (under my documents>Battlefield 2/PR/mods/cache).
2 Start PR Launcher, set AA to Off in Video Settings.
3 Launch PR, load any map, "Optimizing Shaders" appears (this generates fresh shaders cache).
4 Once loaded, click Kit Selection, then exit PR.
5 Start PR Launcher, set AA On, then Play as normal.

6 Optimizing Shaders can take a long time on slow machines. To save time make a copy of the 'fresh' cache folder and paste it on the corrupt folder whenever the glitch comes back (only paste over when PR is closed).

Hidden Coolbits
If you want to give your hardware a boost check out CoolBits. This is a simple registry input which enables the nvidia overclock utility normally hidden within most Forceware.

Note that the paragraph on Trilinear optimisation is not 100% accurate.
PR plays well with this setting set to On and will at the same time increase image quality at further distances!
