Hi, I'm upgrading my laptop from windows XP 32-bit to windows 7 32-bit. Just a quick question will it keep the drivers? Also just to save me the trouble does XP 32-bit only allow 2.5GB of ram?

You will have to install new ones. I suggest getting the latest from your components' manufacturers.
(Win7 will bring its own drivers so a basic installation will work. After the installation driver updates are adviced.) 32Bit Windows versions (XP, Vista and Win7) all have maximum adressable RAM of 3.25GB, although stated otherwise (as 4GB) in this document: Memory Limits for Windows Releases (Windows). This is due to the fact that Windows will reserve address space equivalent to 0.75GB for other hardware components which need to be addressed as well. |

Also, another classic Win7 installation tip. Don't switch off your computer thinking it has hung at the end of the installation or at the start, there are some long periods of inactivity on some systems, so be patient.
