Default Solution for Vista + X-Fi crashes?

SB X-Fi Series Support Pack 2.0 (05/15/2009) - Creative Labs

I just installed drivers from Daniel and it solved not only BF2 game crashes but pretty much fixed it in every game I play. EAX and OpenAL are fully functional, in case you are wondering, the behavior is pretty much identical to the original drivers except for it's not broken. Just keep an eye on the DTS and DDL activation, if that's important for you.

I did uninstall creative drivers and all software, rebooted to safe mode, ran driver sweeper to get rid of driver leftovers (Guru3D - Driver Sweeper (no installer) download from Guru3D.com), rebooted, installed Daniel's drivers. In case you just uninstall Creative drivers without running the driver sweeper, there's a possibility that the installation of new drivers will fail (good old Creative labs and their software).
