OK, whenever i right click in windows explorer, it crashes and restarts back up. I can right click on the desktop but i dont have anything but Personalize, View, and Refresh in the menu. I used to have the whole "New, WINrar, and other 3rd party stuff" but now it's gone. Cant right click on shortcuts to rename, etc.. Cant right click on folders to copy or cut..HelP!
I'm running Vista Home premium 32-bit |

Have you used Vista lately/at all Mike? All the Vista haters either never used it and base claims off of t3h int3rw3bz or used it pre-SP1 and pre-updates so got the bad end of the stick.
And a friend has also had this on XP, so it's not a Vista problem. Pop your Vista disc back in and boot from it, then choose the option of "Repair my Windows Installation" and see if that does the trick. You should be able to keep all of your files. |

i agree with vox here.
i got vista when i started and it was a pain in the ass. now it runs pretty well, better than my xp box. however, i only use xp and vista to game, as for all my work i use ubuntu. from my experience, the repair my windows fixes most problems that you cant fix yourself |

Sounds like some of the context menu entries in your registry got wiped out.
Search in the registry for your missing context menu entries to see if they're still there. |

Although if you don't know what you're looking for, that would take a while.
Best bet is to see if the repair works. |

Pop it and and it should boot from it, most likely with a "Press any key to boot from disc" prompt.
If not then you will need to: 1 - Jump into your BIOS (Normally pressing F2 or DEL a lot shortly after you turn on the PC works) 2 - Once in the BIOS, go into the BOOT menu (use the arrow keys) 3 - There should be an option of Boot Device Priority, enter that and make the CD Drive the top priority. Pop in the disc, restart the PC and you are good to go. Mike, just saying on the grounds that most Vista haters have never used it and are still on XP and haven't even tried, glad to know that this mould has been broken. (I'm still sticking with Vista though |
